Sunday Sayings {April 10}

Hey y'all,

I have had a lot of emotional stress going on and I am trying to keep this place positive, but I'm sure you can tell by my Sunday Saying posts that I am going through a lot. I might have broken down crying in my car this weekend (I pray a lot out loud whenever I am driving) while praying. I am surrendering all of my stress to God and I hope that my plan is in line with his will. In the meantime I am clinging to this verse.

Wedding Wednesday {Monograms & Mimosas Shower}

Hey y'all,

No, I have not mysteriously found a guy and got engaged but since I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in June I thought I would share some highlights as we prep for LC's journey from Ms. to Mrs. If you haven't seen how LC asked us to be bridesmaids, you can read about it on my old blog here.
Meg's house all decorated. Em made amazing chalk signs throughout like the Bubbly Bar. LC also adores Coke so there were lots of cute mini bottles in a Coke bucket.
This past Saturday, the bridesmaids, headed by Em and Meg, threw LC a Monograms and Mimosas shower. Em & Meg outdid themselves. From the mimosa bar, waffle station, biscuits and gray, yogurt parfaits, and muffins we were all happy campers. It was such a nice morning to chat and celebrate the bride to be. I wish I took more photos but I snagged some from friends and was the "thank you note" list maker during the gift session.

Miscellany Monday {Weekend Recap}

Hey y'all,

I haven't done an update in a while and I love lifestyle posts so here's a look into my weekend.

Friday
Friday was a typical work day including a nice lunch out with some of my work besties. I drove straight from work to dinner with my baby sister. We were able to catch up and then went on a mini adventure to search for yellow shoes for a wedding she is in later this summer. We found a pair from Tory Burch at Nordstrom rack but she decided to hold off. I did end up grabbing a Kate Spade bow ring there.
What I wore to dinner/shopping.
After I said goodbye to my sister, I went back to my apartment to finish framing the present for LC's bridal shower the next day. I ended up watching a few episodes of Outlander and made frozen banana+almond milk soft serve.
My gift for the shower. It was Monograms and Mimosas themed!
Saturday
I got up early and was able to clean my apartment before I got ready for LC's bridal shower. Meg and Em went above and beyond and I will share some photos from the shower on Wednesday.
The bride and four of the six bridesmaids. Clearly we are ready for all the wedding photos. ;)
After the shower, I met up with my bible study co-leader Sam and we caught up on life/planned for small group this week and brainstormed ideas for our summer study. She had to be at church early so we wrapped up and I headed to the Kendra Scott store. There was a special promotion that if you spent $75 you would receive a periwinkle Rayne necklace in celebration of UNC's advancement to the Final Four. I ended up with two pairs of Danielle earrings.
 The rest of the evening was spent at church, going to dinner with friends after service and then watching the Carolina/Syracuse game.

Sunday
I spent the morning babysitting J&L as usual and then ran to Aldi & Target for some groceries. The rest of the afternoon (6 hours total) I spent catching up on the World Figure Skating Championships with eCs. Woohoo to Ashley Wagner's silver medal! It's the first time in 10 years the US had a Women's World Championship medal.
Sunday night I spent some time dyeing Easter eggs (my roommate's a teacher and was gone over Easter/this past week for spring break) and watching episodes of Outlander.
How was your weekend?

Sunday Sayings {April 3}

Hey y'all,

This has been my mantra over the past few weeks.It has been really helpful to carve out at least one night at home every week and do fun and simple things I love.

When I get really stressed or overwhelmed here are some of my favorite ways to de-stress:
color
paint my nails
dance party
pray
craft
clean my apartment
bubble bath
put on a face mask
take a cycle class
bake a treat
watch some of my favorite shows

What are ways that you de-stress?

Best,

Five on Friday {April 1}

Hey y'all,

It's Friday meaning I will actually post a list of things I am loving this week. I hope that you are not fooled by the April Fools pranks this year! This weekend looks like it will be pretty busy but filled with a lot of fun for me between babysitting, cycle, bridal shower, church and lots of sports.

one. Baby sister. The baby sister is in town right now and we are grabbing an early dinner tonight. She lives in Ohio and has spent a few weeks down here in NC visiting our parents and some friends before she starts her new job.
Mom, Baby Sister, and I before the Lion King performance a few weeks ago.

two. Outlander. If you are not aware, Starz this weekend has the entire first season of Outlander available for FREE! I got the DVD of Season one, Part one for my Mom for Christmas and we had a marathon of six episodes in January one weekend. I got my Mom season one part two for her birthday next week and we will probably watch it together the next weekend I go down to visit. Look at this gorgeous photo from season two!

three. Whole30. I am back on the Whole30 train. Let me know if you want me to post things like my meal plan, what I eat in a day, tips/tricks, etc.
via

four. World Figure Skating Championships. This year Boston is hosting the World Figure Skating Championships. The events started on Wednesday afternoon and will continue through the weekend. I have plans to watch it with a friend on Sunday since she has DVR'ed the competition. I believe NBC will be replaying a lot of the Championships next weekend.

five. Final Four. My Tar Heels are still alive! I will be rooting for my alma mater this weekend and hope the Heels can make it into the Championship game on Monday. I might be currently leading the office bracket challenge and hope that I can come out on top if the Heels make it all the way!
